Almost immediately.  Shortly after 9-11 there were some news stories about these little tiny towns in middle America.  The residents were talking about how they were terrified that the terrorists would bomb their town.

Although I suppose it could happen, I started to wonder why these people were so scared of something that was so statistically remote.  They had a better chance of getting murdered by a robber, or killed in a car crash.

The more I thought about it, the madder I got, because someone was whipping them up to that kind of fear.

I remember thae same thing. Politicians have hijacked the media in many ways.
