Where they'll be Tuesday night

Everything you need to know is in these two pieces of information:

1. Hillary Clinton will be in NY on Tuesday night. (Politico)

2. Barack Obama will be in St. Paul, at the site of the Republican convention on Tuesday night. (The Page)

Obama's choice will signal that he is poised to be the nominee and to challenge McCain.

Clinton will have come home after a spirited and competitive nominating campaign.

I'm sure it was amazing. Did you get to the Target Center a few months ago?  A friend told me that the Obama campaign was certain that they would be able to fill the Metrodome, but it was booked at the time.

Pshaw (none / 0)

I am thinking if MN had a stadium with 100k capacity he could have filled it.

Minneapolis is Obamapolis, it was one of the few cities where Bush got less votes in 2004 than in 2000 and McCain will get fewer than Bush did in 2004.

I was volunteering at that (2.00 / 3)

I actually got very sick after helping at the Target Center, because I was helping people out in the cold all morning and early afternoon.

Totally worth it. :)

There were people lined up for a mile to get in... also through the skyways in downtown Minneapolis.

Then you probably know this.  I was gonna try to get down to the Minneapolis campaign office by Moose and Sadies but apparently it has been moved.  Where is it now?

I will just guess 280 and University since like every campaign office for a decade is over there but I can't seem to find it on the website.

Re: Where they'll be Tuesday night (none / 0)

I went to the event but had a nasty sprain from soccer and didn't want to line up for OVER A MILE to get in.  So we went to the best pizza place on earth a few blocks away instead.

We are leaving right after work to get in line.  Realistically we still might not be able to get in but hopefully we will.  I'm missing the last game in this soccer season too while we try to finish our undefeated season too :(

I'll be there in spirit, watching on CNN's live feed, with a bottle of champaign ready to uncork.  (It's been chilling in the fridge for 2 months)

Re: Where they'll be Tuesday night (2.00 / 4)

You know a few weeks ago, I was thinking something along these lines:

Where they are June 3rd will determine how this campaign will end. I'm glad both will be where they'll be. Whether Clinton officially concedes or not on Tuesday is moot, but I think she will begin laying the groundwork for this thing to wrap up.

Much respect to Sen. Clinton.

Serious Question.

Re: Is this a diary? (2.00 / 1)

Yes, it's a serious diary. I'm glad it is as I didn't know where Clinton was going to be on Tuesday night. Is that a serious enough answer for you?

Fair enough. Thought you might be in the same vein as 'is this snark'. Though at this point I think s/he's been rightfully banned ... man that was annoying.

I believe I heard on one of the networks this afternoon that Obama may be in NY on Wednesday.

Hmmm...that's interesting. I wonder if they'll be ready to make a joint appearance.

Re: Where they'll be Tuesday night (none / 0)

hey fox news just reported that they have seen a tape of michelle obama saying some inappropriate things.

or maybe it was the prior statement she made about being really proud for the first time.

Who knows , i just heard the last part flipping around but it sounded like it was something new she said.

Anyone else heard about it.

Re: Where they'll be Tuesday night (none / 0)

Roger Simon said that.  He's been saying that a long time now, and has yet to produce a tape.

Fox News didn't claim it.

It's a rumor campaign (2.00 / 1)

A very silly rumor campaign at that.  If anyone'd seen it, then we'd all have seen it by now.

Michelle Obama saying something inappropriate would not kill his campaign by itself.  They'd have needed to run it before he was the nominee.

Could this be related to (2.00 / 1)

Larry Johnson (aka Flowbee) and his assertion that they have the tape?

Re: Could this be related to (none / 0)

Yes, it's Larry Johnson, and he is allegedly releasing a tape tomorrow of Michele using the word "whitey" in a talk at the Trinity Church, in an inflammatory way.

It's all a little silly.   Hillary's spouse did much worse, and McCain's spouse stole drugs from a non-profit in the mid-90's, which is also worse.  Still, it'll make for lots of You-Tube viewing...

Re: Where they'll be Tuesday night (2.00 / 1)

Is Michelle running for President?  I believe we have lots of real tape of Bill Clinton saying inappropriate things.  Oh, and lots of tape of John McCain saying inappropriate things.  Oh, and lots of info of Cindy McCain doing inappropriate things.  What was your point again?

Popular vote (none / 0)

By the end of this nominating process, more people would have voted for Clinton than anyone else in this process, Democrat or Republican.

By the end of this nominating process, neither Hillary or Obama would have enough pledged delegates to clinch the nomination.

Superdelegates ultimately will decide this contest.  The party hacks, the insiders, the operatives, as well as our elected officials.  Washington will choose our nominee.

by Sieglinde on Sun Jun 01, 2008 at 04:29:24 PM EST

Re: Popular vote (2.00 / 3)

Clinton wanted superdelegates to exercise their judgment, eh?
